The job doesn't stay at the station. Your marriage and family shouldn't have to face it alone either.
Rotating shifts, missed holidays, the emotional distance that trauma can create — the demands of this career put a real strain on marriages and families, even strong ones.
It's common to come home and not know how to talk about what you saw, or to feel like your spouse can't understand a world they haven't lived in. That gap can grow quietly over time. A chaplain can meet with you and your spouse together or separately — to listen, to help you communicate what's hard to put into words, and to point your family back toward the strength that comes from walking through this together, not around each other.
“Two are better than one... for if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
“Charity suffereth long, and is kind... beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4,7
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
Whether you want to talk alone or bring your spouse into the conversation, a chaplain is glad to walk with your family through this season.
